…and we’re off!

We’re psyched about all these upcoming dates, hope to see you out there somewhere soon!

Maybe Believe to be officially released MAY 12!

We just mailed this project out all over the world with the help of an amazing promotional team, and we are so excited to finally be releasing it everywhere in just a few weeks.

I can’t believe this album came to fruition the way that it did, especially regarding my personal satisfaction with the music, and how well the design and artwork match the overall concept. These CDs look like the music sounds. Thanks to everyone involved. We have such a great team, and this wouldn’t be possible without them. Special special thanks (again!) to our Kickstarter backers, because as we’ve said a bajillion times, this literally couldn’t have happened without you. All the love, Jon

Spring Time Tour Time!

Hello friends!   Thanks so much to everyone who came out to our pre-release celebration for our new album, Maybe Believe! What an amazing night at the one and only Grey Eagle here in Asheville. You may not be able to tell from the blizzard outside, but Spring has sprung for the JS3! Tomorrow we leave for a 25 day tour that hits some notable spots including, The World Famous Station Inn in Nashville, Anastasia Music Festival, Taos Mesa Brewing, The Throckmorton Theater in San Francisco, Winterwondergrass Tahoe, Rhythm and Blooms Fest, and Albino Skunk Fest! We could not be more excited about getting on the road again, and we will have pre-released copies of our new album Maybe Believe available directly from us before the album officially drops May 12th. Check out our tour dates for all the other stops along the way… we’d love to see you! Love, Jon

What’s going on? Winter 2016.

Jon is psyched to be joining long time friends / old bandmates Andy Thorn (Leftover Salmon), and Travis Book (The Infamous Stringdusters), for TWO nights of bluegrass with The Travelin’ McCorys at Isis Restaurant and Music hall, December 15th and 16th. Then again on December 17th at the 4th Annual Casting for Hope Winter Music Fest in Morganton, NC.

Another Bluegrass treat that’s happening this winter is the Bluegrass Generals on January 6th and 7th at Cervantes in Denver. This is a bluegrass super group consisting of Andy Hall and Chris Pandolfi (The Infamous Stringdusters), Paul Hoffman (Greensky Bluegrass), a special to be announced guest, and Jon Stickley!

We’ve launched a Kickstarter!

We are so excited about the project, we’ve got a brand new EP called Triangular ready to ship out to everyone the day we meet our Kickstarter goal, and have our studio time booked for the new full length album we’ll be recording with Dave King (The Bad Plus, who also produced Lost at Last).

Start Date: 10/10/16 – End Date: 11/11/16

Please help us spread the word and share the Kickstarter

Video Premier: Rice Dream

We recorded a video for ‘Rice Dream’!

Folk Alley, who premiered the video, writes “the name of the game is harmonics. Jon Stickley’s guitar harmonics and Lyndsay Pruett’s violin harmonics twine seamlessly together, creating an almost otherworldly atmosphere and the end result is a bit unnerving in its intensity.”

Jon wrote ‘Rice Dream’ after waking up from a dream about Tony Rice, one of his biggest guitar influences. Folk Alley explains, “He woke up one morning thinking about one of his heroes, the great Tony Rice. Sitting at the table with a hot cup of coffee, bleary-eyed and trying to remember just what, exactly, the dream was all about, Stickley focused on a container of the lactose-free milk product that was right in front of his eyes. It’s called “Rice Dream” and…well, there it was. A new tune started running through his head.”
